Stunning Sunset In Kuching

I was extremely excited when I saw the lights! It was the end of another semester, I hooked the EM5 around my shoulder and went out to a church gathering. On my way, this stunning view just simply happened! I was astonished by it, can't resist my fingers start clicking the shutter. Having a lightweight system always by my side, ready to capture amazing things happening around me, is simply as awesome as this sunset. :)

Farewell..old pal!!

I had a mixed feeling, a mix of sadness and excitement deep down in my heart. While I was packing up all the stuff into that golden box, I felt like the camera was accusing me of letting her go. Yeah, I'm the emotional-kind-of-guy. Although it was a hard time, I have to move on. The excitement is, I am going lightweight!! Yay!! Which body will I choose? XT1? EM1? Or even the A7? The XT1 is a strong offering, albeit its amazing Fujinon lens lineup or the significant AF improvements on this newly released body. The EM1 is as amazing as always, wonderful IQ and Zuiko Digital lenses, while the A7 ensures me that I lose nothing in terms of the sensor size (i.e. full frame), not to mention their excellent Zeiss offerings as well. Well..that's a mystery to be unfold soon. Stay tuned!! GK.

"Beeling" & Crab

This is the time of the hour when our friend Robin Wong likes to post food photos to stimulate our appetite. No harm for me to post some up too, especially this Sarawak delicacy, "Beeling". Yummy!!

1/60s | F/1.8 | ISO 1250 | 17mm | EM5

And...this angry-looking crab too!!

1/60s | F/1.8 | ISO 2500 | 17mm | EM5

Still rockin' my everyday life with the EM5. GK. :)

Starry Starry Night *Attempt Failed*

How I wish I have an ultra-wide angle to cover such vast area of the sky. It was an awesome night, clear skies without any signs of clouds and mists. It was rare to find such a view in the city recently. What a view, what a relief from my final year stress!! Woohoooo!! GK.

Box & Life: A Boxed Life

Life is like a box. We tend to live inside it, constraint ourselves with all sorts of circumstances, we think inside the box all the time, reluctant to take the extra mile. But when stress and trouble come, life crush us without any signs of compassionate, just like a box being crushed that easily. Maybe...this is LIFE.

Shot tips: Side light casting on the talent's face was created from the LED flash of my mobile phone (quite a powerful one). Photography is about anticipating shots. Everything around us is a potential "money shot". But, if a camera is so bulky until we are reluctant to bring it out all the time, when the shot came, we often have only our Iphones or Samsungs to shoot with, and that is a very sad thing. Thankfully, something like the EM5 is so lightweight, and it is hanging around me all the time. Utilizing what I have with me (a camera, a mobile phone with flash, a talent and a good background), I can create the image that was composed inside my little mind.

The above description is just purely a random metaphor, don't take things too seriously. Although, I'm trying to get myself out of studying stress at the moment. :)
